Rise Kohyang Charter School in Los Angeles' Koreatown neighborhood will move its high school to a new building in August.

Rise Kohyang Charter School announced that it will leave its current temporary high school campus near downtown and move its high school to a newly constructed building beginning with the 2024-25 school year in August.

Operated by ��w����ý, a nonprofit education corporation, Rise Kohyang Charter School is the only public charter school in Los Angeles' Koreatown community that offers K-12 education, having opened Rise Kohyang Middle School in 2012, followed by Rise Kohyang High School in 2016 and Rise Kohyang Elementary School in 2019. Rise Kohyang Elementary and Middle School are located in the Lafayette Park neighborhood of Koreatown (600 S. La Fayette Park Place, LA).

Rise Kohyang High School's new location is at Vermont Avenue and 1st Street (3500 W. 1st st., LA), and construction is nearing completion. The new high school building includes basketball and volleyball courts for student use, as well as a fully equipped weight room with all training equipment. There are a total of 23 state-of-the-art classrooms, including two science labs, a music room, and an art room, all with natural light and views. The school also has a parent community center, indoor and outdoor dining areas overlooking a green garden, and more, the school says.

Students are assigned a counselor at each grade level to provide attentive guidance and personalized learning, after-school programs, and experiential learning programs both on and off campus, all at no cost to the student. LA 한인타운에 위치한 라이즈 고향(Rise Kohyang) 차터스쿨이 오는 8월 신축 건물로 고등학교를 이전한다.

라이즈 고향 차터스쿨은 현재 다운타운 인근에서 임시로 사용하고 있는 고등학교 캠퍼스를 떠나 오는 8월 시작되는 2024-25학년도 새 학기부터 새롭게 지은 건물로 고등학교를 이전할 예정이라고 밝혔다.

비영리 교육법인인 ‘브라이트 스타 스쿨’이 운영하고 있는 고향 라이즈 차터스쿨은 2012년 라이즈 고향 중학교 설립을 시작으로 2016년 라이즈 고향 고등학교, 2019년 라이즈 고향 초등학교가 차례로 설립돼 LA 한인타운에서 유일하게 킨더가든~12 교육을 제공하는 공립 차터스쿨이다. 라이즈 고향 초등학교와 중학교는 한인타운 내 라파옛팍 인근(600 S. La Fayette Park Place, LA)에 위치하고 있다.

라이즈 고향 고등학교의 새로운 위치는 버몬트 애비뉴와 1가(3500 W. 1st st, LA)이며 건물 신축공사가 마무리 단계에 접어들었다. 새롭게 지어진 고등학교 건물에는 학생들이 이용할 수 있는 농구·배구 코트와 모든 트레이닝 운동기구가 완비된 웨이트룸이 갖춰져 있다. 2개의 과학 실험실, 음악실, 미술실이 포함된 총 23개의 최신식 교실이 있으며 모두 자연 채광과 전망을 갖추고 있다. 또한 학부모 커뮤니티 센터, 녹색 정원이 내려다보이는 실내·외 식사 공간 등을 갖추고 있어 최고의 환경에서 학교생활이 가능하다고 학교 측은 설명했다.

각 학년마다 상담 선생님이 배치돼 세심어린 지도와 개인별 맞춤 학습, 방과 후 프로그램, 학교 안과 밖 모두에서 진행되는 체험학습 프로그램 등 사립학교와 같은 학생지원이 무료다. 라이즈 고향 공립 차터 스쿨은 현재 2024-25학년도 등록을 받고 있다. 문의 (323)954-9957 한인 담당자 ext.1020
